Carragher Hopes They're Gunner Do It

Jamie Carragher is hoping Arsenal can emulate Liverpool's success last year and end the season as European champions. The Gunners will face Juventus in Italy tonight already leading 2-0 from the first leg at Highbury.

If they play as well as they did at home they should find themselves playing Villarreal in the semi-finals and then either AC Milan, Benfica or most likely Barcelona in the final in Paris. A Paris final (and win) would be even more sweet for Arsenal who have such a large French contingency in their squad too.

Jamie had this to say:
"It's pretty similar to what we did last year. I hope they do well. The football they play is outstanding. They probably are the best footballing team in the country. The way they played against Juventus in the first leg, if they get anywhere near that they'll certainly go through.

"I think the job Arsene Wenger's done over 10 years or so, he's never quite got the Champions League, whereas (Rafa) Benitez, (Sir Alex) Ferguson or (Jose) Mourinho have. The job he's done at Arsenal he probably deserves that because he's done as good a job as any of them."

It's a far cry from Arsene Wenger who called Liverpool lucky rather than congratulate them last May!
