Nando Gives LFC & Cisse An Instanpool Birthday Present

Morientes has given all of LFC an Instanpool present today, one year after the miracle that was Istanpool.

Today Fernando Morientes left Anfield to return to Spain and join Rafa's old club Valencia. The fee was undisclosed, but is believed to be less than £3m (less than half the price LFC paid for him.)

The truth is that Nando was never good enough for LFC, of course I would have wanted him to succeed. I don't think that there is much doubt that he is still a great forward, just that his style of play is more suited for the continent than the Premiership.

This also comes as a gift to Djibril Cisse, who was often second to Rafa's favoured 'child' and with Nando now gone, there is an increased likelyhood of Cisse staying at Andield. Rafa has made it clear that Crouch is going nowhere, while Fowler has signed a new contract (but will surely no be playing in every game), meaning that starting positions will be between Crouch, Cisse and presumably a new signing (if only it could have been Henry).

I still think that Cisse can be a success at Liverpool, and I hope with Nando now gone Rafa will give our Frenchman achance to shine.
