Rovers v Chav$ki & Other Meaningless Games

Well that last post was a waste of time since Blackburn are currently leading the Champions 1-0 who are without John Terry, Michael Essien, Claude Makelele and Didier Drogba (all injuries) and Petr Cech, Paulo Ferreira and Arjen Robben (all rested).

Other games that are going on are in the Scottish Premier League where Rangers must beat Hibernian (currently 2-1 to the Glasweigens) if they want any chance to claim the last Champions League spot, and a game between Dunfirmline and Dundee United is a game that means squat!

The final game is being played in League Two where a win for Carlise (currently 2-0 up against Rochdale) will almost certainly secure them the title. The only chance Northampton would have of stealing it would be a loss for the leaders and a 26(!) goal swing in the final games of the season (a little unlikely me thinks).

  • The League Two game is over and Carlise can celebrate winning their title (despite all the unlikely mathematic permatations).
  • Dundee has lost to Dunfirmline - and nobody cares.
  • Rangers have dispatched of Hibs in their unlikely quest for a return to the Champions League.
  • Blackburn still have 5 minutes left to hold out for and secure the final UEFA Cup spot.
  • Blackburn have done it and are through to Europe. A question now is will they permanently sign Sinima Pongolle? Or even will Rafa try to get Bellamy in part exchange?
