X-Men 3: The Last Straw
X-Men 3: The Last Stand, is in theatres tonight, but it will be the last straw for any fans of the comic books series. The films pretty good as far as action is concerned, but the story was so rushed, that the audience will feel let down at the end. It's far worse for the comic books fans (and I don't mean the hard-core ones, that critic every small point) with several of the main, main characters being killed off or losing their mutant powers for good in some circumstances, fairly early on.
Leading up to watching this film I was looking forward to seeing Vinnie Jones (as Jugonaught), amazed that he has somehow conviced another director/casting director that he's an actor, rather than a old-footie-player/thug! It was The Beast that shocked me the most though, I didn't know that Fraizer (Kelsey Grammer) was playing him!
I still enjoyed the film and it's probably understandable that having already created 2 sequals that they wouldn't plan on doing any more, the death toll (and the ire of the fans) have cemented that. Still they could've given the franchise a better send off.
