It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over !!!

AAAAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!!!!

Okay, sometimes there are extra 'bits' after credits, but they are typically comedies (Dodgeball, Ferris Buller, Canonball Run, Something Like Mary) or Pixar cartoons. But action flicks!?

Truthfully I was a little pissed about the end of X-Men 3, so eventhough I considered waiting until the end of the credits, I just wanted to get out of there.

Well it turns out that there another scene that explains it all, why cetain people lost their powers and others died, and how the series can continue after all (should they choose to). If you've seen the film and didn't watch the end (past the credits) then highlight the space below to see what happens and the conclusions drawn from it. If you haven't seen it then you've been warned, below is obvious spoilers:

Basically you see Xavier is still alive and is awoken on a bed, by the person who is now in charge of the acadamy. Aparently the reason why we don't see Scott/Cyclops die is because he's also still alive, and Grey/Phoenix will still come back from the dead - eventhough she gets stabbed to "death" by Logan/Wolvereen!

Magneto's powers come back as do Mystic's, since the 'cure' is not permanent, as was first thought. You see a little clue of this before the credits when Magneto barely moves a metal chess piece. It was unclear, at least to me, as to whether that chess scene was showing that he was regaining his powers or a picture of a feble old man/mutant - it now appears to be the former.

Man I'm so pissed, but I'm not going to watch the whole flick again, just to see the end! If it wasn't a screener that I was going to and I had a ticket stub, I would be demanding to be let back in to see the end! As it is, I'll probably have to theatre hop and watch the end of it after watching some other film! The theatres need to tell their customers about it before they go in!

X-Men 3: The Last Straw

X-Men 3: The Last Stand, is in theatres tonight, but it will be the last straw for any fans of the comic books series. The films pretty good as far as action is concerned, but the story was so rushed, that the audience will feel let down at the end. It's far worse for the comic books fans (and I don't mean the hard-core ones, that critic every small point) with several of the main, main characters being killed off or losing their mutant powers for good in some circumstances, fairly early on.

Leading up to watching this film I was looking forward to seeing Vinnie Jones (as Jugonaught), amazed that he has somehow conviced another director/casting director that he's an actor, rather than a old-footie-player/thug! It was The Beast that shocked me the most though, I didn't know that Fraizer (Kelsey Grammer) was playing him!

I still enjoyed the film and it's probably understandable that having already created 2 sequals that they wouldn't plan on doing any more, the death toll (and the ire of the fans) have cemented that. Still they could've given the franchise a better send off.

Happy Instanpool Day

It's the first birthday of Liverpool's amazing win over AC Milan in the best European Cup Final ever.

I'll be putting up a number of posts throughout the day to celebrate this great day.

Some Final RED Hot Instanpool Links

  • Enjoy watching all of the video from last year's final (if you have an eSeason tecket that is).
  • "From Depths of Despair to a Lasting Legacy" (Chris Bascombe recalls the greatest night in the Reds' history)
  • "Three Days In Istanbul: A Diary" (While most journalists travelled to Istanbul with a brief to cover the final, liverpoolfc.tv columnist and Echo reporter Tony Barrett flew to Turkey to cover the fans. This was his diary after spending day and night with fellow Reds.)
  • One year ago today (Evil Dan's take on May 25, 2005)

Nando Gives LFC & Cisse An Instanpool Birthday Present

Morientes has given all of LFC an Instanpool present today, one year after the miracle that was Istanpool.

Today Fernando Morientes left Anfield to return to Spain and join Rafa's old club Valencia. The fee was undisclosed, but is believed to be less than £3m (less than half the price LFC paid for him.)

The truth is that Nando was never good enough for LFC, of course I would have wanted him to succeed. I don't think that there is much doubt that he is still a great forward, just that his style of play is more suited for the continent than the Premiership.

This also comes as a gift to Djibril Cisse, who was often second to Rafa's favoured 'child' and with Nando now gone, there is an increased likelyhood of Cisse staying at Andield. Rafa has made it clear that Crouch is going nowhere, while Fowler has signed a new contract (but will surely no be playing in every game), meaning that starting positions will be between Crouch, Cisse and presumably a new signing (if only it could have been Henry).

I still think that Cisse can be a success at Liverpool, and I hope with Nando now gone Rafa will give our Frenchman achance to shine.

The Miracle of Istanpool

Some clever cats have re-enacted that great night last May on a footie video game. Pretty darn close to the original: all the right scorers at the right times (and often the right positions), even including the final penalty!

Watford Win

I don't really care who made it up, there aren't any teams I like in the Championship at present, but I'm glad it wasn't Leeds or Palace. Congratulations to Watford, I hope you enjoy your year in the Prem.

More Chocolate - Nagin Wins

During Hurricane Katrina and the aftermath, Ray Nagin proved to be an untter incompetent and a complete idiot, not that his job performance was much better before. It wasn’t.

Now that Nagin's been re-elected it looks like New Orleans will continue with the same dirty politics, corrupt police, high crime rate and just downright lousy government.

Just rebuild the levies so at least the death toll can be lowered next time he's screws up.
